Related Masonic Bodies

As you can guess, Royal Arch Freemasonry is just one part of a larger study. The second of four York Rite Bodies — the Lodge is actually the first part — every aspect of the York Rite offers a different experience and perspective. Take a look at the web sites of our other, related Masonic Bodies:

Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Illinois
This is where it all begins — and, unfortunately — for many Masons, ends. Here’s our Grand Lodge’s web site, complete with just about every bit of information you could want, whether you’re interested in the fraternity, thinking about becoming a member, you’ve just joined, or you’ve been a Master Mason for years.

General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons International
Your Grand Chapter — and, by definition, our constituent Chapters and every Companion who is a member — is a member of our General Grand Chapter, an overseeing and promotional international Body that champions American Capitular Freemasonry, charters new Grand Chapters worldwide, and provides innumerable benefits, services, support, and awards to our Grand Chapter.

Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of the State of Illinois
One of our sister Bodies in the York Rite, the Grand Council governs local Councils of Cryptic Masons, which are the basis and source of why the Lost Master’s Word was lost, where it was secreted, and why. The degrees are beautiful, thought-provoking, and very moving to every Master Mason who experiences them.

Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Illinois
Yet another Body within the York Rite, the Grand Commandery is a Body for Christian Master Masons seeking to explore a different aspect of Freemasonry, specifically the Knights Templar and their mythology and history. Culminating with the Order of the Temple, the orders (not degrees) of the Knights Templar are fascinating to behold.

Sovereign York Rite College of North America
An honorary Body, the York Rite College’s main purpose is assist the constituent York Rite Bodies (Lodge, Chapter, Council, and Commandery) in any manner possible. Here in Illinois, we have a number of Colleges spread across the state. Our own Past Grand High Priest, Companion Jim Patton, is currently the Governor General of the Sovereign College.

Knights of the York Cross of Honor (KYCH)
Another honorary Body, members of the state’s Priory must have been presiding officers of a Lodge, Chapter, Council, and Commandery, served their Bodies with exemplary service, recommended by a current KYCH member, and then approved by the membership. In very many ways, this is the highest honor a York Rite Mason can attain.
